A Fellow Freshman at the Lecture Podium

Lucia Hernandez October 29, 2024
3 p.m. on a Monday marked my first ever class at Boston College, and as it turns out, the same went for professor Maria Bejan. She stood before nearly 300 eager students in her smart pants, boots, and statement necklace, introduced herself with a smile, and dove headfirst into her Principles of Economics course. Mary Perez November 5, 2023
When you wear your hair one way, and people tell you they prefer it another way, it's not a good feeling. Especially when you’re an overthinker like myself.

31 Movies in 13 Days

Matthew Ablondi February 19, 2023
Absurd and unnecessary challenges compel me, especially, it seems, as they become more and more useless or self-destructive. On Jan. 24 at 8:30 a.m., I decided to attempt to watch 31 movies in 13 days.

The Myth of College in the 21st Century

Benjamin Burke January 10, 2023
A journey is surrendering oneself to the river. A journey teaches us where we fit in this large world. I am increasingly convinced that this is what the Jesuits have been trying to communicate with their retreats, classes on “Engaging Catholicism,” and cura personalis rhetoric.
